Matt Segrest, president of Alamo Manhattan, says this vision for his company’s Bishop Arts Gateway project is dead and gone.

He says the public outcry against the proposal by Good Fulton & Farrell Architects will yield “major changes” to the plan for five stories of retail, restaurants and apartments near Davis, Zang and Bishop Arts.

He and associates have been meeting, talking with and hearing from the public in recent weeks, ever since the plan went public.

And the outreach continues this evening, June 24, at the Texas Theatre. Starts at 6:30 p.m.

We’ll see about the redo once it is presented again for public consumption and city TIF dollars. We’ll see if AM changes key numbers: the 377 apartments and 53,700 square feet of retail/restaurants in the original plan.

We’ll see how this evening’s meeting compares to a gathering last week at the theater. And we’ll see what this new group comes up with in and for the future of north Oak Cliff.
